Review: Conquistador 1

Conquistador 1Conquistador 1 by Jean Dufaux
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The first part of an album series in the historical adventure genre, set in the early 1500s, during the Spanish conquest of South America. The main character is part of a group of mercenaries who are assigned the task of stealing the fabled treasure of the Aztecs.

Since this is the first volume of four, a large part of the story dels with setting up the basic premises, presenting the different characters, etc., which makes this album a bit difficult to review. It’s exciting, but a little predictable/traditional, possibly except for the fact that the leader of the group is a sword-wielding woman. At the same time this first part contains the for traditional French comics seemingly inevitable scenes of scantily clad and / or naked women.
